Our Story...Nise Kelemete
Founder and proud Samoan Female Player Mentor dedicated to empowering the next generation of women in rugby league — supporting them to build strong, sustainable careers both on and off the field.

My love for rugby league began at a young age, growing up in Porirua, New Zealand and spending every weekend watching my four older brothers play rugby union and rugby league. Two of them, Vilai and Sulemi Kelemete, went on to represent New Zealand in the 1993 and 1994 Junior Kiwis and later earned opportunities to play in Australia for the Manly Sea Eagles, ARL Team. Watching their hard work and sacrifice inspired me deeply and sparked my own passion for the game.

At 17, I moved from New Zealand to Australia to pursue my dream, joining the North Sydney Bears Open Women’s Rugby League Team. I had the privilege of playing alongside Veronica White and against Tarsha Gale, both NRL Hall of Fame inductees, two of the pioneering women who helped shaped the women's game today. That same year, I became the youngest player selected for the Presidents XIII, competing in the first-ever trans-Tasman women’s match against New Zealand, and I was later selected for the Australian Team.

Over the past 30 years, rugby league has remained a constant and defining part of my life. This year, 2025, at 48, I proudly captained the Chipping Norton Kangaroos Open Women’s Team to their inaugural premiership in the Metro Combined Open Women’s Competition – Silver Division. My passion for sport has also led me to serve as Team Manager for the Samoan National Netball Team, a role I proudly held for two years.

Through decades of playing, coaching, managing, and mentoring, my commitment to supporting young female athletes has only grown stronger. I am driven to guide the next generation — helping them navigate challenges, celebrate their achievements, and build the confidence and skills they need to thrive in rugby league and beyond.

I aim to work closely with young, emerging athletes to provide personalised guidance, mentoring, and management that supports their full journey — from grassroots to elite competition. My role goes beyond contract negotiations, it’s about developing confident, well-rounded players who understand their value, their goals, and their potential.
Our Story...Alyssa Kelemete
I am a proud female Samoan Sports Manager, I oversee the development, support, and progression of young emerging female rugby league players. My role focuses on creating clear pathways for athletes and ensuring each player is prepared for the demands of elite environments. Through consistent communication, strategic planning, and professional oversight, I help ensure every player is valued, supported, and equipped to succeed both on and off the field. I bring experience from elite netball, where I developed strong athletic qualities, competitive discipline, and exposure to structured high-performance systems
I have completed a Diploma of Leadership and Management and a Diploma of Sport, Aquatics and Recreation Management at the Rabbitohs Institute of Sports Management, gaining strong skills in leadership, communication, athlete development, and high-performance sport operations.
I coordinate training opportunities, manage player development plans, and maintain strong relationships with clubs, coaches, and high-performance staff. I also support athletes through personal goal-setting, wellbeing guidance, and cultural understanding, particularly for young Pacific Island players navigating both sport and family expectations.

These qualifications have equipped me with the ability to work effectively within team environments, manage programs, understand professional sporting standards, and support athlete wellbeing. I have also developed strong organisational skills, knowledge of sport pathways, and experience in delivering safe, structured sport and recreation programs. This education has strengthened both my personal and professional capabilities, preparing me to operate confidently within an elite rugby league system.

Our Why...

We are the first All Female Pacific Island Sports Management Team and our mission is to champion all young women in rugby league, offering genuine support, advocacy, and opportunity for players who deserve to be seen, valued, and respected. Whether you’re aiming for NRLW selection or just starting your journey, we provide the guidance, structure, and belief to help you reach your goals — and enjoy every step of the way.

With the rise of many young pacific island female players emerging in the sport, one of our many roles is to help these young women build strategy plans that will create pathways and opportunities for them. With our cultural awareness we can also help navigate them through cultural expectations alongside the demands of wanting to play a professional sport. What makes us different from others is we can definitely offer a safe, trusting space for young pacific island players to talk about mental health, identity and personal challenges. We encourage values like humility, respect and service, key elements in the pacific island culture as our cultural backgrounds where family, faith and community are central.

Empower Growth...
We have established a strong working relationship with the Willagee Bears Rugby League Club in Perth through their Club President Vilai Kelemete. It allows us to connect with their Open Women's Team and support emerging female players in their state as they strive to begin their pathway towards elite-level competition in NSW.
This partnership enables ongoing communication, talent scouting, and the creation of meaningful pathways for girls seeking higher-level opportunities.
